This a newly introduced social responsibility tour catered for travelers with passion for supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Swaziland.

If you are a generous traveler with a softspot for kids and you are willing to give or donate with the little or more you have, then this is an ideal tour for you. Actually this tour is designed for “good samaritans”.

Eswatini faces a crisis arising from the combined effects of HIV/AIDS,poverty and recurrent drought. The country has the highest HIV prevalence rate in the world with 39.2 % attending antenatal clinics and 29 percent of the work force age groups (15-49 years)

HIV/AIDS has had a major impact on Swazi children. Swaziland has an estimated 130,000 orphaned and other vulnerable children. This includes 70,000 orphans mainly due to AIDS related death. In Swaziland an orphan is defined as a child below 18 years who has lost both or one parent and a vulnerable child under 18 years is identified as

  • Living with a parent/guardian unable to take care for him/her
  • Physically challenged
  • Staying alone or with poor elderly grand parents
  • Living in a poor sibling household
  • Having no fixed place of abode
  • Lacking access to education, healthy care, food , clothing, psychological care and/or has no shelter or protection from elements,or is exposed to sexual or physical abuse including child labour.
  • Studies show that children from households affected by AIDS are more likely to be malnourished, drop out of school and have limited access to health and social services. Orphans are also prone to exploitation and abuse. Extended families have assumed responsibility for most orphaned children-40 % of households most orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) most live in households headed by a grand parent, although many Swazi children also head households and care for siblings on their own.

NB: On this tour we usually choose one classroom consisting kids not exceeding thirty (30) or family households not exceeding fifteen (15) kids.

The tour should be booked prior or within a reasonable window in order to arrange with the school or the care point to be visited. No gift or donation amount is too small therefore all our guests can give out anything without feeling bad Usually this will include but is not limited to, stationery, clothing, shoes, sanitary pads, soaps, lotions, candies etc
